Put Your Favourite Song On

As a DJ I might be a little biased here, but I firmly believe one good song can change your whole mood in three minutes flat. Not improve it slightly. Change it. That tune that takes you straight back to a specific summer, or the one you simply cannot sit still to no matter how you are feeling when it starts.
Music is one of the very few bits of magic that is always there when you need it. It does not need booking. It does not need you to be in the right frame of mind first, which is the trouble with most advice about feeling better. It asks nothing of you at all, and it can lift you when very little else will even get near.
The only rule is that it has to be one you actually love, not one you think you ought to love. Nobody is marking this.
So today, put your favourite song on. Not on in the background while you do something else. On, properly, and turned up a bit louder than you would normally allow yourself. Sing it if you know the words and badly if that is the only way you know them. Tap your feet. Have a little dance if the mood takes you.
Nobody is watching, and it will do you the power of good.
